# The Lexicon ## Serverless *Serverless computing* or just *serverless* is a cloud computation model built around the idea of on-demand, ephemeral computing. A typical characteristic is that you pay only for exactly what you use, often to the millisecond. Not to be confused with the *Serverless framework*, another tool for developing serverless apps. ## Terraform [Terraform](https://terraform.io) is an infrastructure-as-code tool by [HashiCorp](https://hashicorp.com).
